Learning with the City
‘Leren met de Stad’ (Learning with the City) is a Leiden educational innovation and a collaboration/ co-creation between Leiden University, Leiden University of applied sciences, mboRijnland (vocational education), Leiden Municipality and local societal organizations.
Students work on urgent societal issues in the city, preferably together with citizens.
Students make impact together and they ‘learn with the city’. Students learn from real experiences within their educational project in the city, which helps them prepare for their future careers. Together with teachers, researchers and city partners they use their knowledge and skills to help tackle societal issues. Organizations in the city profit from the expertise within education.
