SHAPE Alliance:  changemakers in social sciences, humanities, and the arts join forces

Changemakers in the social sciences, humanities, and the arts (SSHA) have now joined forces and call themselves the SHAPE Alliance.

Why exactly?

Boosting the positive impact from SSHA research on policy making, education, the public debate and (social) business, to come out even stronger! No wonder ‘SHAPE’ stands for ‘Social Sciences, Humanities and the Arts for People and the Economy’.

First up: knowledge exchange

Behind the alliance are the professionals supporting impact and (social) business projects in social sciences, humanities, and the arts (also known as SSHA). One of SHAPE Alliance’s first goals is sharing best practices. Because by connecting universities,  researchers, and impact practitioners, exchanging  knowledge  can take place quickly and effectively.

A better position to solve complex problems

The social sciences, humanities and arts are important in solving big societal challenges. Because innovations have strong effects within the public sphere, a lot of legal, policy aspects  and social dynamics come into play.

The SHAPE Alliance aims to make better use of existing valorisation instruments in future, to fulfil its central role better.

Booster programmes to be

In short, SHAPE Alliance connects, changes, creates and coordinates. By facilitating and creating booster programs the network will facilitate researchers in their journey to impactful (social) ventures and impact projects. By providing support, network and by creating entrees to funding, insights are turned into pilots and build (social) ventures and impact projects.

Professional mission of SHAPE Alliance

“We are a community of practice aiming to connect, inform and inspire university KTOs, impact professionals, researchers and other stakeholders. Through this we accelerate research-based ideas into impact. And by doing so, creating an empowered and flourishing SHAPE ecosystem.”
